At Regions, the Business Intelligence Analyst drives business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision makers. This position applies data mining techniques and conducts statistical analysis to report key findings in order to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives.
Collects, aggregates, and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance
Produces actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
Enhances data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
Communicates findings and insights to stakeholders and provides business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance
Provides reporting solutions and responds to ad-hoc report requests
Educates and/or trains business partners on operational use of reporting solutions
May participate in the design and development of business intelligence reporting tools
May act as an enterprise data liaison for assigned business unit
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
- Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of relevant experience
Banking or financial services industry experience
Experience with application of statistical skills such as distributions, statistical testing, and regression analysis
Experience with data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, and QlikView
Experience with relational databases such as SQL and Oracle
Experience with query development, scripting, and programming skills such as Excel Power Pivot and Dax

Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts, features, and benefits of analyses to any audience
Ability to conduct business process analysis, formulating enhancement proposals, and preparing relevant business specifications
Ability to work with technology and operational partners to plan, manage, and successfully execute business process changes
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships across technical and operational environments
Self-starter with ability to plan, organize, and executive on assigned initiatives with limited direction and guidance
Prior experience with general ledger reconcilement processes and reporting is strongly desired
